.....and so is Amarinder–Jagbir Brar
Chandigarh//December 10, 2011//
People's Party of Punjab (PPP) leader Jagbir Singh Brar today termed Rajinder Kaur Bhattal as an extension of the Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, and added that the same is the case with Capt Amarinder Singh.
Reacting to the statement by Rajinder Kaur Bhattal stating that the PPP was an extension of the Akali Dal, Jagbir Singh Brar stated that all Punjabis know that the senior Congress leadership and the Akali Dal leadership is hand in glove with each other, and the two parties have a tacit understanding of rotation of power. PPP on the other hand was formed when its leader Manpreet Singh Badal was thrown out of the Akali Dal, while the Congress and the Akali Dal have been enjoying rotation of power.
It is a well known fact that the informal agreement exists between the Congress and the Akali Dal. That is why the Akali Dal did not pursue any corruption cases against the senior Congress leadership and despite claims by the Akali leader particularly Sukhbir Singh Badal that he would send Capt Amarinder Singh to prison, no action was initiated. Prior to elections Sukhbir used to boast stating that "mein Amarinder di tung pajami vich chuhe chad diyanga" (I will release mice in Amarinder's tight pyjamas), but instead Sukhbir now addresses Capt Amarinder Singh as maharaja sahib.
"This is a follow up to the mutual understanding that cases would not be followed up against each other," Brar said. No wonder the Akali Dal concentrates on terrorism and victimising PPP activists and lets the Congress go scot free.
Brar also added that the PPP always desists from personal attacks and has refrained from levelling personal allegations. However the party would not sit back when the Akali-Congress duo targets the PPP.
